Karmeliter Breakfast Guide

The perfect start to a day around Karmelitermarkt.

Cafe Korb

Brandstätte 9, 1010 Wien

Even though it’s not in the 2nd district, Café Korb is worth a visit. Openend in 1904, this Viennese Coffeehouse is a true gem. The “Ober”, describing the Viennese version of a waiter, are always up for banter and owner, performance artist and actress Susanne Widl can often be found socializing at the Café. The menu offers local classics like applestrudel, goulashsoup best to be enjoyed on the popular and cozy terrace.

Supersense

Praterstrasse 70, 1020 Wien

Supersense is a special place. The concept store is specialized in analog experiences, meaning that next to local, tailor-made delicacies, mouthwatering coffee and local craft beers you’ll also find “delicacies for the senses”. Highly recommended for all those who want to make a vinyl record after breakfast sand are looking for something out of the ordinary.

Café Ansari

Praterstraße 15, 1020 Wien

The Ansari, a Georgian restaurant is a good address anyways and the breakfast menu is just as good as it gets. Situated beautifully in the very green Praterstraße next to Mochi, this is the perfect spot for a relaxed breakfast.

Zimmer 3

Karmelitermarkt Stand 37-39, 1020 Wien

The best address for a breakfast at the market and prepared according to the philosophy of the 5 elements. The lovely designed,  cozy Café  offers everything from Porridge to Viennese Breakfast. Our favorite. “Zimmer 37 Vitsalfrühstück” – 2 organic eggs in a glass, bread with chives and creamcheese and a hot drink of your choice. Yum!

Spelunke

Taborstraße 1, 1020 Wien

Breakfast with a view! Situated in the “News-Tower”, Spelunke offers great views on the Danube Canal and a solid menu. From minimalist Croissant and Coffee combo (“Feines Kleines”) or a Breakfast-Steak to a healthy bowl of Quinoa, at Spelunke you’ll find your morning fix.
